Make 2025 the year you stick to your goals
Here we are at the end of another year, and maybe you're thinking about how next year could be different. What do you want? Exercising regularly, creating a better balance between work and life, or starting a new project we’ve been dreaming about? Whatever it is, you’re dreaming big, and I love that about you.
But let’s be real, sticking to goals can feel impossible sometimes. January comes with all the energy, and by February, it’s like… what goals? Why is it so hard to keep going?
Here’s the thing: Change is tough because our habits are like super-comfortable old hoodies, we’re used to them (even if they don’t fit quite right anymore). But guess what? You can stick to your goals. Let me show you how.
1. Start small. Really, small.
Okay, imagine this: You want to climb a giant staircase. Would you leap to the top in one jump? Of course not. You’d take one step at a time. Goals work the same way.
Instead of deciding to work out every day if you’re not doing it already, start with two days a week. Nail that, and then add more. Tiny wins build up like bricks in a wall. And before you know it, you’ve built something awesome.
2. Know your comfort zones
Let’s talk about why we do the same things over and over, even when they’re not great for us. It’s because they’re comfortable. Like scrolling on your phone instead of finishing a task. Much easier, right?
Breaking a habit means stepping out of that comfort zone. It might feel weird at first, but here’s the hack: Swap it for something better. Stressed? Instead of diving into snacks or TikTok, try taking a quick walk, doing five deep breaths, or writing about what’s on your mind.
3. Don’t rely on motivation
Motivation is like a sugar rush. It’s awesome at the start, but it doesn’t last. That’s why you need discipline. Discipline is like brushing your teeth. You do it because it’s part of your day, not because it’s exciting.
A trick? Keep track of your progress. Mark off each day you work toward your goal, like checking off boxes on a calendar. Seeing those marks adds up to serious pride, and it keeps you moving forward.
4. Choose goals that matter to you
Here’s the truth: Goals need to mean something. If you’re only trying to do something because other people say you should, it won’t stick. But if it comes from your heart? That’s powerful.
Instead of saying, “I want to lose weight,” maybe it’s, “I want to feel proud of.” Big difference, right?
5. Check in and adjust
Life is messy, and that’s okay. Sometimes a goal that felt right in January might feel totally wrong by March. Don’t beat yourself up. Just adjust.
Take a few minutes every month to ask yourself:
- Does this still feel important?
- Do I need to make it smaller or more fun?
- Am I being kind to myself about this?
A Fresh Start for 2025
As you step into 2025, remember that lasting change doesn’t happen overnight. By starting small, focusing on your values, and building discipline, you give yourself the best chance at creating meaningful, lasting success.
Success isn’t just about what you achieve on the outside but about how you feel on the inside. True success is always an inside job and YOU are your best investment, always!
Wishing you a year of focus, freedom, and fulfillment,
